DATE: Victorian, c.1880

A stunning Victorian silver locket and collar dating from the 1880s. It's exceptionally well made, and the design is quite unlike anything we've seen before; the collar is made up of clover-shaped links, with alternatin ivy leaf and pansy motifs, each one chased by hand. The locket itself features a rise at the centre in applied rose and yellow gold, within a border of yellow gold ivy leaves. Per the Victorian language of flowers, the relevant sentiments are: fidelity (ivy), love (rose), and think of me (pansy & clover).
